Advertising is overwhelming these days and gets very annoying however, advertising is one of the biggest revenues in the media industry. Some ads are good and some bad but it depends on the audience really, for instance, putting an ad for condoms on a channel like Nickelodeon would be completely taboo, however, seeing an ad like that on comedy central would work out just fine.
There is a ton of advertising these days and it is mostly geared toward the 15-25 are group because they are the most appealed by what the ad is trying to tell them. For instance, shampoo commercials where there is a beautiful actor or actress is naked in the shower that works because it will make them want to buy the product because they think it will make them beautiful. Some advertising is more for older people like medicine ads in magazines. Advertising may be overwhelming but it is a huge part of our countries economy.
